Lectors serve the community by reading the Word of God and assigned prayers/ announcements at and during regularly scheduled weekend Masses.
You can be male or female, young or old. You must be a practicing Catholic and enjoy reading aloud. Also, you must be reliable, prepared, timely, and neatly dressed. No special skills are required. A beginner will co-serve at a Mass with regular lector for a few weeks, or until they feel more at ease and comfortable.
The schedule is variable. You can volunteer to serve only at a single Mass or be flexible to read at any Mass. Dates and times can be "selected" or "assigned where needed most." Lectors can substitute for one another, depending on the circumstances.
